Our repair process ...

Step 1:
A damaged or worn lathe chuck arriving at WCS is first disassembled and thoroughly cleaned.
Each part, body way, master jaw and wedge fit is inspected and measured in 10ths to determine damage and wear, then reassembled.  Following this process, a quotation is submitted and work can begin.
Step 2:
During repair/rebuild, the lathe chuck manufacturer's original specifications are adhered to.  Components are brought back to
specifications equal to or better than new chuck.  Body ways are ground perpendicular, parallel and square typical to one another.  Jaws are fit to within .0005" and wedge fit to body bore to .001".
Step 3:
WCS is often able to repair chucks using existing parts.  This saves downtime and money.  When necessary, broken parts can be replaced or made.  This applies to recently manufactured chucks, as well as older chucks that are no longer on the market.
Step 4:
A WCS rebuilt lathe chuck or workholding system is a finely tuned machine tool component that will provide many years of service.  Backed by a full 1-year warranty and over 100 years of collective experience, the new component's performance will exceed that of any produced by a competitor.
